    Wow...that took a bad turn!!

Rep claims i CAN NOT return the notebook because i bought it as a business!?!? Systems are delivered "as is" and can not be upgraded (aside from HDD etc) afterwards. And because the screen isn't literally defective (it just looks like ****) they probably won't do anything about it...they will get back to me though.

PCMCIA prob....sounded like they just didnt't get what i was saying and kept asking about the cards i used!!! I told em the cards work fine, all of them, but the WiFi 5300 is thrown out of the system by all of em. Took a while to even get the slightest bit of understanding of the problem.

But is this true? I can't return the system when i'm not satisfied? Rep tells me that only applies to consumer accounts??

    Please advice!!

Wow! I'm not sure if there's a difference between business and consumer accounts, but I think this has gone on long enough and I would recommend calling up the small business customer support and tell them you're not satisfied with the laptop - return it. Dell's quality control has gone down the drain - my Inspiron 9100 from 4 years ago is built like a tank and has only had two problems in that time. Now, new machines have issues as soon as you turn them on.

So its rumored that Apple is going to release new notebooks on the 15th - Dell had better get with releasing the RGBLED I want before then or I may be tempted towards the dark side.....

You sure can return the laptop if you are within your 21 days from the date of purchase. If not within the 21 days, you can still demand a replacement.

Yeah that's what i thought but this rep claimed that was only true for private buyers (consumers) and not businesses. I'll definetly get to the the bottom of that. He also told me the screen is one of the components that can not be upgraded later on...although the last guy i spoke to told me it, the RGBLED, was going to be available as upgrade. Maybe i should just talk to someone else then the guy i had today, just didn't get the problem.
Whole thing did really kill the buzz with a new notebook though :(
especially 'cause the service seemed really great at first...until it came down to business.

and again my request...can anyone check their PCMCIA card...see if it disables the wireless card when u actually insert a card? Would be a great help!!

    thx guys

So the FX 1700m is out on Dell US now, we are halfway towards my purchasing requirements! Lets get that RGBLED soon please!!!

****!! $499 for the upgraded card?! what the crap?

The difference is like $100 worth on a consumer card!

I'm probably going to order it today...but your right, that's ****ing insane for a graphics card. You can get an OC'd GTX 280 for less than $500.
