Can you take a photo of this LCD (ElectricTool, LPTP-LVR). I´m interested in how it looks like. If you have some other laptop... for compare.. would be great ... Thanks in advance...

Hi aaaaaaa (great name ;) )

Here's the pics. On the left is my old Asus v6va
I wasn't exactly blown away with that screen either though it's decent but that was never promoted as being anything special, the 2CCFL on the other hand, is said to be very good and evenly lit.

The effect on a white screen is 2 brighter areas and a yellowish/grey area in the center (bit of a smog colour actually)
Keep in mind that this is the replacement screen and is considered to be working as it should and looking as it should. The first screen had the exact same fault. So does Dell think of this as a good quality screen for design professional? That's what the laptop is marketed for, right?

HAVE to work this out (as you might've noticed my initial enthusiasm is further and further down :( )

Oh... I expected better screem... This is really visible... Thank for your photos..
So ask Dell for WUXGA RGB LED display.. Try it.. Just say, that you are MD and need it for X-Rays... :) I´ll have WXGA+ LED, so it isn´t suposed to be uneven, but grainy...:(

It's hard to capture the graininess with a picture. Here's a picture I took anyway, and you really can't tell if it's grainy or not:

It's more about perception - if it's grainy, you'll definitely notice it. I didn't know what grainy displays looked like, but as soon as I turned on my M4400, I noticed that something was off about the display. I confirmed that it was indeed the Philips-LG display and comparing it to my 19" external, the quality was quite poor. It was super-bright thanks to the LED backlight, however.

The RGBLED is a WUXGA screen, right? That's just too high for me! :p

I think I'll have to just go with my initial instinct and get the ASUS G50V. My main complaints are the high-gloss finish, the gaudy orange trim, and poor battery life. But at least the display is nice.

Thanks for photo.. But I can´n see anything:eek: Better is picture with something else for compare... It´s really that bad with LED WXGA+? And do you think, that it´s possible to change display in future for the WUXGA RGB LED (if nobody tell, that it´s grainy or uneven)..?
I´m really really scared, what I´ll get... I likely let my E6500 on table and never push the ON button..:(

As I said before, it's really hard to tell a grainy screen from a picture - you have to actually see one in person. If you can't see the graininess, then you either have a good display, or you can't tell the difference - in either case you should be happy with what you got. :p
