    Try removing the Intel drivers?

    I'm not running them here.

Today I notified that there is a new file at the Dell M4400 driver page. It is under System Management stuff called Dell Version Controll Catalog. The file DellSDPCatalogPC.cab contains one packed XML file. The Description says that it is "Latest PDK/SDP catalog for DUPs for respin". I try to google some more info on that but without success.

So what is this good for?

Hi. I am new to the M4400 Owner's Lounge. I have a new M4400 and no matter which screen saver I use I get an all WHITE screen about 50% of the time when it goes into screen saver mode. Anyone had this problem? Thanks in advance.

You know, that pops up now and then for me, never did figure out what it was though.

I just assumed it was a Windows 7 RC driver thing with the nVidia pre-release.

I don't have that issue and didn't under Vista either (I'm currently running 7 x64) with the 186.03 beta drivers. You can try upgrading your drivers to these: just go to nvidia.com and under drivers follow the options and it will present you with Nvidia's most up-to-date drivers available. That would be the first thing I'd try doing.

    Hi there, first post...

    M4400, T9600, 4GB, 250GB 7200RPM, Win XP SP3

Having problems with Resuming from Hibernation or Stand-by. Every once in a while, the machine either does not resume at all and does a full reboot, or it resumes, starts working normally then freezes after about 15 sec. (trackpad/keyboard totally unresponsive except screen brightness and keyboard lighting keys which still work). Only way out is to do a hard reboot.

Tried re-installing all the drivers, update BIOS to A14, rolled back the Creative Webcam driver to version 1.6.3.309, but the problem still happens intermittently. Dell is vaguely aware of the problem but has no fix for it and blames Windows - what else is new...

    Your help is much appreciated.

Check all of your logs after you reboot, see if you spot anything out of the ordinary that is causing it to hang.

Probably a rogue process of some sort, maybe even an unstable browser add-on.

hi my friends.. i'm looking for my new note.. and i'm on m4400 workstation.. i saw it last year.. and it was (and it's yet..) a good workstation.. but.. do you think that will be a refresh for the platform in the next months?? with a gpu refresh (40nm gddr3), new cpu (maybe i7??), bluray drive options, and maybe a little refresh for the chassis?

    thanks a lot

This look more like furure generation and I am not sure that it will come soon. Dell doesn't build professional laptops very often and you can measure the time between previous line and current M4400. Personally don't believe that Dell will use BluRay in his Work laptops soon since it is more multimedial part.
