I managed to get my BT headset to work in XP and 7, but it's a little trickier in Vista. Basically, the default Windows bluetooth stack for XP and Vista didn't work at all for me (XP 32 and Vista 64), but if you download the stack from Dell, you can successfully pair the two. 7 was by far the easiest to make the pair with. When it's successfully paired, you'll have to add the audio service to the bluetooth device (I believe in XP this is done by right clicking the bluetooth device then selecting properties.) After that is added, it will stream to the BT device. Upon reconnect, I did not have to reconfigure the headset. The BT in the 4400 keeps up pretty well even running BT mouse and BT audio (very little studder).

i need help. Big time with drivers. i need drivers that wont send my quadro 770m much over 80Cs with continuous use of gaming. i been using 186.18 from nvidia but i noticed that it notched up to 93c and my cpu also hit that. saying that tho the gpu when idle went to 54c. 10c hotter than the first 6 months when i had it. These are the temps i checked and i only reinstalled the laptop yesterday to make sure.

Can't say I've ever had a 10deg difference with different driver's,maybe a couple at the most.

6 month's...10 deg difference, winter V summer ?,dust and fluff collecting in the heatsink radiator's ?,what does HP use for GPU/CPU TIM on that model? have you thought about opening it up and having a look,or having HP do it,if you don't want to.?.....can't see it being anything to do with drivers personally.

I can see where you coming from withte sessons thing. although the temp is no different from summer to winter cos i have heating on in winter. but then it only JUST about went over 85c at most but steadily 75-80c when gaming. but testing street fighter bench at 93c is like woah. its the game ill be playing ALOT. althogu i thought take it to nvidia. i only jsut ordered the game lol and expecting it any time this week. i suppose i could send it away but its offsite. but then i could use the 8510w which i heard the 8600gt struggles with it. Saying that tho that needs to go back to hp. they replaced the screen witha wxsga+ instead of wuxga and i do intend on selling it.

But yeah thats why i had to ask. what drivers is anyone else using to game with stable temps. id like to try them and if still high compared to yours then ill send it in.

My QX sits around 50-60 degrees, spikes a little higher if it's running 100%. The graphics card hasn't gone much higher than 80 running the GPU hard for a few minutes. Enabling Physx Processing using Nvidia's GeoForms (max settings w/ 4x AA) I'd hit upper 70's; without it was peaking about 82. After a few minutes of rest, it drops back down to the low to mid 60s.

Hmmm i have the 185.85 drivers but i havent installed them yet. i need to install a game to and see how it goes. i been using the benchmark tool to see how it goes. so ill check them, again w1st before trying them.

As for enabling physx. i disabled mine lol to see if the temps would be lower but never got round to benching with them off but u say that it performs with lower temps with them on lol.

Gosh why did i become an enthusiast. i remember when i had a dell d600 with my radeon card and game son it without much care of heat or temps. and now im like whats the best business laptop i can get at 15inch screen :'(

Lol. the temps do my head in cos of the throttling, then i think im gonna toast my gpu.

    Hi all,

I'm seriously considering getting an M4400 as a portable digital audio workstation. I'd like to know if anyone on this thread is doing the same, and what audio cards are compatible with it. I plan on running XP on it. I won't be doing much recording with it, mostly playback in a live gig situation, so not having glitches is quite important! :D

Also, reading through the posts, it looks like the latest Intel MSM drivers have addressed whatever audio related issues?

    Thanks!
