You posted DDR3s which you cant use because of an other formfactor. you need DDR2 rams

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...0525 1309221140 1309121118&name=4GB (2 x 2GB)

i prefer corsair, but its kind of personal taste

the Dell site is correct and you'd need 2x the 2GB mentioned.

The other link is DDR3 and that won't fit in the laptop...

    you need DDR2 pc2-6400 / 800mhz..... 2x2gb (2 DIMM's of 2gb each.)

I think I wasn't very clear. I mean that your laptop, like almost all laptops, can hold two "RAM cards". The one you are/were planning to buy comes with two cards of 1 GB each.

This means that to have 4 GB you will have to throw away the two cards that come with your laptop and put two new cards of 2 GB each.

When I said you should look for 2 GB (1 DIMM), I meant that it would be a laptop that has one slot with a 2 GB card and one empty slot, and you would only need to buy one new card.

I have another thread running running but I figured I would ask here too. When I take my RGB led display into bright sunlight the back light goes kind of crazy turning different hues and then eventually shutting down completely. Here is a video of what I am talking about.

If anyone is willing to try I just used a filament based flashlight and shin it right into the very right edge dead middle. Ambient light sensor is off. Any ideas?

Well the dell rep wants to have a new screen put it but I am very weary to have the screen replaced, I just don't want to have the whole thing loosen up and rattle and creak, ect after they do they pull it all apart.

Screen replacement is really easy, don't worry too much about it. Just keep an eye on the guy while he's doing the whole thing.

You're welcome! But the part of DDR2 vs. DDR3 wasn't mine, 2k5.lexi and LPTP-LVR deserve the credit for that :)

You're right, it's not the right place as it's not M4400-specific, sorry.

i've lost the blue pointing stick on my keyboard. anyone know what the part or model number it is? dell's site only lists pointing nubs for the older D latitude series, doesn't seem to have any for the E/Precision models.
