Great! Thanks for the confirmation. If another round of coupons (applicable towards the M4400) doesn't show up soon, I may finally lose my patience and just order a machine with a dual core processor.

I suppose the QX9300 is dual dual core, if that's what you mean. But technically its name is "Core 2 Quad Extreme". :D

Looks OK to me mfr, although you could increase your overclocked score by letting nvidia tools pick the "optimum" settings for you......if it interests you at all ;)

    BTW

3DM06 is plain crap for true benchmarking. It's official for me now. I broke 8000 like a monster on this with only 60C temperature on 3DM06 and when I opened up Left 4 Dead on maximum settings I got artifacts on not only that, but half the overclock! So I revered to my low +100/+100/+200 OC and the artifacts disappeared. I haven't tested how much higher I can go for L4D, will post results soon.

Yup,it always has been.....the fear or crysis benchmarks would have far more meaning.....but not everybody has them.....FRAPS is another better idea, but you can end up with large inconsistency, depending on how people do it.

3Dmark is ok to compare the same system and see if its performing in the ball park with another....thats about it.

bleh...just ran 3dmark...although i did have a lot of programs running in the background. i got 5300 3dMarks.

is there any way to boost performance other than overclocking? i want to squeeze some more frames out of medal of honour, airborne

Ehm...don't run progs in background? Lol...kidding...OC-ing seems to be the only thing. Without that your score is going to be somewhere around 5800...that's it.

btw....left 4 dead + far cry 2 work great here without any artifacts at 590 / 890 / 1590. Temps stay under 76celsius with BIOS A06 and after applying AS5....very happy with it now but still wishing for the update ofcourse
