Hey guys, if I have the 37whr battery can the E7470 accommodate a 2.5" SATA SSD? If so is there a link for the bracket/cable to purchase?

I already took it off. Looking at the bottom of the computer, it was in the lower right corner parallel with the side right under the foot. (or at least I think that is where it was)

I have some RAM coming today or tomorrow, so I will open it again then and take some photos.

No, it defiantly isn't that. I tried clicking while moving the trackpoint and that works. I also tried clicking in the same place without touching the trackpoint and it still happens. Maybe I have defective buttons. I will contact Dell and see if I can get them to fix it.

I do use Linux, but it seems that the touchpad/trackpoint in the E7470 aren't fully supported yet. They are detected as a single generic PS/2 device. There are some kernel patches floating around that I am in the process of trying. I have the button issue in both Linux and Windows, so it isn't related.

Thanks, I think you're describing the location of the M2 slot where normally the regular SSD is installed -
which is great to know it's NVMe compatible.

I checked and you're right. The touchpoint seems to not work simultaneously with the keyboard keys, but seems to do fine with the touch pad/trackpoint buttons.

I just tested and this is correct. That is extremely annoying. I used to play video games with a trackpoint and that would have driven me crazy.

I also just installed 32GB of RAM in my machine and it seems to work. No issues yet and it detects the full amount. I wonder why Dell doesn't advertise this?

That one is bad but the one that affects me more is if I use my finger on the touchpad to navigate to a (let's say) tab in browser, and then click on on it using the physical left button, now if I want to use two finger scrolling, I have to lift my finger from the touchpad first. This was not the behavior in other machines.

This issue is not just tied to the trackpoint (pointing stick) but the touchpad as well. You can't immediately use the two finger scroll after typing, you have to wait before trying to scroll or it won't work.

I have a Samsung 950 Pro and only get x2 out of it. It is a function of the motherboard in this laptop I gather. I have a 950 Pro in my Optiplex 7040 and get x4 out of it.

Can anyone tell me how to enable the touchpad gesture for browsing backwards and forwards in e.g. Chrome? The gesture was available in Windows 8.1, but disappeared in 10, in favour of one which changes what application you're looking at.
