Actually I am not sure about the wwan pcie slot. I meant there is only one 2280 m2 slot. I don't have any 2242 ssd to test the wwan slot. Somehow I am under the impression that this slot does support ssd, just not bootable. But don't quote me on that.

Is there any 42mm NVMe drive? The only M.2 2242 SSDs I'm aware of are SATA based.

    Hello,

Thank you for opening this thread.

After using latitude e6340 at work for about 2 years

I decided to buy one for me as its a very solid laptop.

I am still deciding which one to go for 7470 or 7450.

I hope that someone will tell me briefly what are the pros and the cons of each one for the i7 processor as l've read some articles for 2 days but still haven't made my final decision.

    Thank you.

If you want to have more than one SSD, you will have to choose the E7470. Also the SSDs should be much faster on the E7470.

    E7450, compared to the E7470:
    + Easily replaceable battery.
+ Cheaper (depends on what kind of a deal you can find)

    - Only one usable SATA port for drives. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)
    - Slower SSDs only, no NVMe. (Again, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)
    - Slower DDR3 Ram vs DDR4 on E7470.
    - Slightly slower CPU/GPU unless you get the GT840M in the E7450.

    Hello powerslave12r,

Thank you for the reply & providing info. As I really appreciated.

However, can you please provide me some info about the battery how long it takes before it runs out of charge, the Full HD screen, and the case is strong and solid, and what about the keyboard?

The deal that I get for the E7470 here in the UAE is about $1440 for the below specifications:
    i7, 8gb RAM, 256gb SSD, 1920 x 1080, Windows 10 pro

Unless you are keeping a spare battery in your bag, the ability to easily swap the battery is not an issue....at least not to me. I get around 6.5 hours with an i5, 50% brightness, and on wifi. Mostly Office and remote desktop sessions.....I don't do CAD or game. It has been a nice upgrade over the E7450.

The biggest issue I see is you have to tear the laptop apart to do almost any repairs. The keyboard I got out of the box was bad....tech had to take out the motherboard!

Just got the e7470 and I like it so far, its a nice upgrade from the e5450. Build quality is much better, I thought the thouchpad and the keyboard would be the same but they are clearly better(5450 wasn't dual input, that might be why).

Anyway, any suggestion as to which ram I should buy if I want to upgrade to 16gig so that it work nicely with the ram already installed? Cheaper is better.

Also, how do I disable vpro? Which setting is it in the bios?

Sounds like you have 1x8GB in there now. Look at the RAM you have and put in that part number into eBay. That is what I did. Now I have 2x8GB of the exact same RAM and didn't pay Dell prices for it. Should be able to get 1x8GB on eBay for <$35 shipped.

    Thanks, I'll do that.

Also is it normal that after one battery cycle the windows battery report says :

    DESIGN CAPACITY

    54,994 mWh
    FULL CHARGE CAPACITY 53,618 mWh
