    I'm short of other explanations for this behaviour. Perhaps you should ask Dell.

    You could try to avoid getting into this zone by increasing the maximum charge level to 85%. It's usually cramming in the last 10% which wears the battery although I suspect the rate of wear is much reduced in most recent notebooks as they massively reduce the charge rate once around 85%.
