I have seen nibitor showing completely off frequencies in 8400M-GS bios in both of the following conditions. Either, you are using a nibitor version earlier than 3.5, or when nibitor asks you to confirm the type of graphics card you choose something other than 8xxx series. Even the latest nibitor (3.5) has problem correctly detecting the 8400M-GS bios but it works when you confirm that it is 8xxx series. You can download the latest nibitor from the following link

After my overclocking, I can play HL2-E1 completely smooth, everything high, 2xAA, and at 1280x800 resolution. Hoping that HL2-E2 will also be similarly playable.

    Vostro 1500, T5470, 2GB, 8400M-GS 600/550

Wow thats pretty good. Im curious to see whether the 8400 GS will be able to handle Call of Duty 4 and Crysis.

Nope... used the newest one and chose 8xxx series... still get weird readings and every few times I get some German sounding error message..

Here's a few screenshots. They are within seconds of each other, you can see the numbers vary greatly and are completely wonkey... this was after selecting 8 series.

Here is my screenshot if it helps. What video card do you have 8400M or 8600M? The Device-ID in screenshot is definitely not 8400M, see the correct value below.

By playable, what kind of fps/settings are we talking here?

Edit: With stock drivers I OCed to 624/780
Compared to default clock playing Neverwinter Nights 2 at 1280x800 I was able to get:

    default: ~23.3 fps
    oc: ~30-34 fps

Both were taken top down at the farthest zoom option available. Graphic options were:
    - texture quality high
    - bloom on
    - shadows off
    - AA/AF off

Thanks, that's what I thought they should look like. I have no idea whats up with mine and it makes me nervous to consider flashing it...

I am not sure what is wrong with nibitor or your bios but it is strange. I think Nibitor has a problem reading the BIOS. Otherwise, the notebook would not boot with a corrupt BIOS, right? You might try saving the bios from Atitool and then reading into nibitor (Atitool -> Settings -> Misc. -> Save VGA BIOS.) But I would never flash this BIOS in the form nibitor reads.
