Yes.. you just Jealous :) because I reached 860 MHz for memory and no atifacts or something.. I'll go up to 900 today.. You must have DDR2 memory.. becasuse I have in m HP dv2500 DDR3 memory 700 MHz.. so HP is selling it underclocked.. 400/600 MHz.. core/memory. Now I'm playing Bioshock and Colin Dirt @ 650/860, fan really noisy, and highest temp. I get by Colin.. 78 C. My 3DMarky score was 12k with stock driver and freq. and now is 18 k with 158.45 driver nTune overclocked.

From where I can download 163.71 driver with moded INF? I dont care about increasing voltage, I'm using nTune for overclocking with no problems, only increasing tem. but for OC I must go for 158.45 driver. You say that in 163.71 is O C enabled? Pls give me link on that driver..

The reason is more speed! The shader clock controls the speed of the shader processors and it doesn't have to be 2x the core clock. 1500 is about the maximum i could go without artifacts. I found this by trial and error and it was pretty time consuming having to write to a cd-rw and reboot for every change.

Using Notebook battery info http://www.batteryinfo.de.vu/ it has an option to show current power consumption.

    Here you go :)

163.71 is not overclock enabled, i.e. you can not overclock by using RivaTuner, Atitool, or someting else. But it does work with overclocked BIOS ;)

First, I installed 101.38 drivers from Dell. Then, using Atitool, found the maximum safe frequencies. Finally, flashed the modded BIOS and installed 163.71 drivers.

I think we have different cards, at least the memory chips are different.:( There is no way I can even reach 800 mem frequency, it is beyond having a few artifacts, my 8400M will crash or freeze.

I must be doing something wrong... ATI Tool keeps telling me that the card I chose for overclocking is not the one windows uses... but under overclocking it's listed and the only option there is... anyone else run into this?

Ok so has anyone managed to put all this overclocking to use? Can you run Quake Wars and Model of Honour Airbourne with a steady fps?

Well it seems you need the new beta of atitool to run on vista so got that running... now checking into nibitor and it's giving me odd results when reading in the bios... changing the profiles in atitool seems to change the bios settings nibitor reads in with numbers running as high as 15704 for the shader and core even with stock profile loaded in atitool...
