Good to see that the 8400m GS responds so well to OCing. Looking forward to the review!

I just downloaded and installed Ntune 5.05 and am running ForceWare drivers version 162.13. When I try to set custom clock frequencies and then hit apply, it just simply reverts back to the stock 400/500 settings. Is it possible that Ntune doesn't work with my version drivers? Or am I doing something else wrong?

Nope, I'm using upgraded drivers from laptopvideo2go that I downloaded when I originally acquired the laptop. Forceware 162.13. Maybe I should delete them and reinstall the Dell drivers - that or the 158.something one.

Apparently the 16x.xx drivers from laptopvideo2go don't allow you to overclock your cards. Some people say it does, most people say it doesn't.

I think your best bet is to go for the latest 158.xx drivers from the site. Alot of people say they're the best for overclocking.

Which 158.xx drivers have you all found successful on your 1420/1400?

Thats some great overclocking! I havn't tried overclocking mine yet.

I tried drivers from laptopvideo2go, however, the drivers I got gave me a strange error: It said something like you do not have a 32bit OS. I have Vista 32bit. It would not let me install the driver. I have tried a couple different driver versions. No luck yet! :(

I used the latest stable drivers from nvidia with the modded nv_disp.inf from the latest drivers on laptopvideo2 go (vista 32-bit as well). Works great. I use them instead of the laptopvideo2go drivers because those don't seem to work with suspend (video doesn't come back on resume).

Has anyone tried adding some arctic silver to the CPU or the GPU? Besides making overclocking safer, it would probably help battery life under load (less need to run the fan). Curious of trying it with my accidental damage coverage ;p
