    My drivers max out at 600/750 and the 8400m gs hit these numbers with no problem. I would be interested to see what drivers Zer0N1nja is using to get such high options.

    I'll post some 3dmark scores soon...

    I cracked open the bottom of the Vostro 1400 and it appears that the GPU is buried within the notebook. The CPU is easily accessible but the GPU is hidden under the chassis.

    I have attached pictures (sorry for the blurryness) of the bottom of the bottom of the notebook with the covers off as well as what I think is the GPU heatsink although I could be wrong. Currently it just has thermal tape on the processors.

    Pattertj, you should be able to access the gpu under the keyboard like most other dell models. Ill take a look at it tonight and try applying some Artic Silver on it before overclocking.

    I will also take a look to see if there is a way to mod the heatsink on the 8400 gs just like I did with the copper mod to the Inspiron 8600 (ATI 9600 mobility) where I removed the thermal pad and placed a piece of copper to transfer the heat much better.

    If possible can somone post up a screenshot of a game when the GPU is not overclocked, and another screenshot of the same game when the GPU is overclocked.

    What kind of screen-shots do you want? I only have BF2 at the moment. Do you screenshots of the same settings with different Clock Frequencies, or the best settings for each clock frequency? Just let me know and I'll get up for you this afternoon.

    I want the same setting but different clock requencies. Also pls try to make sure both screenshots are of the same thing otherwise it will be harder to note the differences!

    i am useing ntune 5.05.47

    i'm running my games now at 550/765 and temps are fine, i get about a 25-35% boost depending on game.

    If they're at the same settings and different clocks... they'll look exactly the same dude.

    The only difference it would make if the same game is running at different clocks (and same settings) would be the increase in FPS that the overclocking provides. So if someone were to post a screen of a game with clocking and without, it would be a good idea to run fraps (or some other FPS monitoring software) because the only useful information to gain would be the difference in FPS

    I ran FRAPS with BF2 during a single player mission for 5 minutes at High Settings.

    The results were....

    400/500 - 38.54 FPS
    600/750 - 48.28 FPS

    I'll grab some other game demos to let you know how they turn out.

    That is a 25.3% increase. Not to bad if you ask me.

    Sorry for the Double Post...

    I'm planning on a major 8400m GS review post hopefully by Monday of next week. I'm planning on Stock and Overclocked benchmarks for...

    :::In-Game Benchmarks:::
    Battlefield 2
    Call of Duty 2
    Call of Juarez
    Company of Heroes
    FEAR
    GRAW
    PREY
    Supreme Commander

    :::Synthetic Benchmarks:::
    3DMark06
    3DMark05
    3DMark03
    Aquamark

    I've never done this but I'm motivated... any suggestions?
