    Real shame about the Trinity APU not dropping into your machine :( It was actually this thread of yours that brought me to Notebook Review forum in the first place when I was researching the posibility of a Llano - Trinty upgrade, so thanks for that!

    But since it's not possible I'm considering doing as you did and swapping out my A6-3400M for an A8-3550MX but I wonder if you could answer a quick questions since you've 'been there, done that'?

    Did you notice any significant increase in temps after the upgrape? And in your opinion is it worth getting the A8-3550MX over the A8-3510MX when the 3510 is 2/3 the price of the 3550?

    Thanks in advance.

    I'm happy to help you out with this case and actually I have good news to you;
    The 45W A8-3550MX ain't increase temperature at all upgrading from A6-3400M 35W APU. Note I have been overclocked both APU to 2.4GHz near 1.15V.
    Buy the cheaper A8-3510MX, supports DDR3 1600MHz and can be also overcolcked to 2.4GHz or even further. There is nothing technical difference between two of them, so running A8-3510MX on 2.4GHz exactly as fast as 3550MX on 2.4GHz ;).

    Hey Atom Anti, that is good news, thanks :).

    I too have overclocked my A6-3400M to 2.4GHz, at 1.137V - gets up to mid 80s when I'm stress testing but no higher. Hopefully I'll notice a sizeable increase in performance with an upgrade to the A8-3510MX without any increase on those max temps with a similar overclock, obviously with a RAM upgrade as well.

    I'll let you know how it goes once I've got the parts if you're interested?

    I know very much how well perform Llano in Vostro 3555, but other users might will find interesting to see your results. I believe in CPU side you won't experience performance increase, only in GPU side, but there a lot...
    Your temps in the mid 80s sounds high to me, perhaps you have not do re-paste yet. Once you change the APU use some short of high quality thermal paste and max temperatures will drop under 80s ;).

    Yeah I hadn't stripped it down and repasted the heatsink yet since I was planning on upgrading so that's probably contributed to the relatively high core temps. A blob of Arctic Silver or the like should remedy that once the parts arrive :)

    Apologies for hijacking your thread as well, I got a bit carried away! Looing forward to seeing your testing of those new Trinity cores in a couple weeks too, I'll have to keep an eye on your new threads!

    Arctic Silver is great:thumbsup:, I may used the same or Arctic MX4. The 45W APU actually working cooler than 35W without repaste...

    A Vostro 3365 could be perfect with A10-4600M, however this time I do not see much chance for any Trinity laptop from Dell.
