My Behringer BCD3000 are fully USB3 ready, it works well on my home DAW on USB3 port, I tested it on another USB3 PC and there is no problem. Behringer Tech Support confimed by mail that BCD3000 is USB3 compatible!

my Vostro USB3 port can plug every device (hd,pendrive, mouse, joypad) eccept BCD3000 soundcard!
the express card saved me, through an Express Card usb2 adaptor I managed to recognize my bcd3000, so I'm waiting for a good USB3 interface too, or some solution from Dell Tech support.

Ive just bhougt a 3555 and I need some help. I have 1 slot with 4gb ram and 1 slot free (is it the slot underneath the first ram?) I have tried to place a 2nd ram stick in the free slot but it does not work, the system does not recognize it and it seems that I cant stick it in as far as the first one (that came with the laptop)

Am doing it wrong? Could someone post a picture with both of the rams installed?

    thanks

Yes, probably you are doing something wrong if your system does not recognize the 2nd RAM. It is actually so easy to install, I'm not sure what can be wrong. Do not think for any tricky things, just simply insert the rams with little angle, push all the way inside to the slot, than push down the RAMs until the metal holders catch it.

I'm thinking of getting the 3550 or 3555 (or maybe a DV4t) but was wondering if the laptop speakers are any good at all for music and movies? I just don't want something that sounds like an old alarm clock radio lol....

Dell technical support said me that NEC/RENESAS USB3 Controller chipset don't recognize my audio usb external card. My Dell vostro 3555 is not compatibile for Behringer BCD 3000. and until NEC will built a compatible driver, my dell vostro 3555 can't play music. after this, in my personal score values for DELL is 4/10.

Finally I managed to upgrade my Vostro 3555 with AMD A8-3550MX APU. It works like charm, stay cool and quiet but gives tons of power.
The A8-3550MX APU has been arrived from cpu-fairy seller. He managed very quick shipping and the product works great in Dell Vostro 3555. Finally this is not an crippled APU, It is working perfectly for both CPU cores and GPU part.

Here some benchmarks with my old A6-3400M@2400MHz APU:

    Windows 8 x64 scores: 7,1 7,4 5,6 6,5 7,5
    Dirt 3 1366x768 High presets: 28,1 FPS
    3DMark 2003: 14711
    3DMark 11: 701

Benchmarks with my new A8-3550MX@2400MHz APU:

    Windows 8 x64 scores: 7,1 7,4 5,9 6,6 7,5
    Dirt 3 1366x768 High presets: 34,9 FPS
    3DMark 2003: 17021
    3DMark 11: 894

Window 8 scores verify the CPU cores are holding on 2.4GHz and not struggling with 1,73GHz, while the games shows nice performance boost on GPU part...

The new A10-4600M Trinity APU is on the way from China, so within couple weeks I'll be able to tell if Vostro 3555 upgradable.

    The chances were very good:
Identical (FS1) socket and (A70M) chipset, new A05 bios, but Vostro 3555 won't boot up with Trinity A10-4600M:

Fits very well into the socket

After building up the laptop and try to power up, I realize; Someone AMD or Dell really messed up, APU won't boot up, just beeping 3 and keep beeping 3...
