Well, I am using the Shoreline Always On neoprene 14" sleeve right now. Here's a link:

    http://www.shorelinecases.com/neoprene.htm

If you're wondering why I am not using the 14.1" sleeve, it's because that one isn't wide enough. This sleeve is a bit boring looking and would probably be too big for your laptop if you have a 6 cell battery, but with a 9 cell it fits quite well. The biggest advantage is that I can use it even while using the computer so I don't have to worry about others accidentally scratching it while I am working.

I use the dell 14.1 inch neoprene case and it works great. And I too have the problem with my bezel scratching the palm rest. I contacted tech support and they said it was a known problem caused by the hinges being too tight and they agreed to replace the plastic parts and the hinges. I'm not sure how the hinges being too tight could cause this problem but when the new parts arrive we'll see if the new hinges fix it.

That either means they don't understand the problem or are putting up a smoke screen. The display flexes enough that the smaller rubber bumpers each side of the palm rest are not enough to stop plastic colliding with paint when the computer is squeezed (and the smooth paint finish means it has to be squeezed if it is not to be dropped). Perhaps the latch is intended to hold the two surfaces apart.

    My fix is here.

I agree they probably don't understand the problem but I did talk to pro support so maybe they do. Regardless I don't want to put tape on it to fix a problem that shouldn't even exist. Ill probably just make them keep sending me new bezels and palm rests forever just to punish them for making stupid design errors.

Yes, keep getting them to change your parts.

I expect we will see some official rubber pads on the top display bezel within a few months.

well, mine was bad enough that the luster and pattern of the cover was gone in the area where there were scratches. I can't take any pictures because I returned that laptop.

Inevitable scratches/wear... I was very very careful with my e6400. Just today I noticed the corners are starting to show wear. I've owned this laptop for a week. I am using a standard targus laptop bag and it seems the nylon causes chafing. It also added a small scratch in the middle of the lcd exterior panel. If it is, in fact, paint, has any one tried using mild car wax or toothpaste (diluted) to gently blend it out? I'll try that next.

Don't use car wax. I used a little and buffed but I noticed that the one spot got shiny and the scratch didn't go away. It might be better to wax the entire surface to create a uniform look now. Or I'll have to put a sticker there!!!
