Haha they are scratch proof because the glossyness blinds you from its flaws. Have you tried using a key =)?

Well, I would rather spend more to put the invisible shield on the dell than go through the effort of checking out the HP. I basically e-mailed Dell back asking about the details of getting a replacement. The thing that bothers me the most are the scratches, but there are some software and other minor issues with my current laptop.

Ok so I e-mailed Dell back on Friday asking for more information and they still haven't responded. Should I just call them instead? My computer is still having freezing problems (along with scratches). I hate dealing with people on the phone though. At least the sleeve that I bought for my laptop is good. I don't think I need to get the invisible shield right away. I'll probably wait until they come out with a standard shield so that I can save myself some money.

Hi Guys, I got my replacement laptop today. It came with two small scratches! ARGGGG. Oh well, at least it's much less visible than the ones my first laptop. There are two other important changes to the replacement. The keyboard is different and it's a little more difficult to push down the keys. I have not yet decided whether this is better or worse. On the one hand, it feels more springy and sturdy (it's also louder), but on the other hand, it requires more energy to type. I definitely know that this a different keyboard because the keys themselves are shaped slightly different. Also, I have a samsung sec5442 screen now instead of the lp (the same one that John Ratsey has) one that I had before. I don't know why people were complaining about the samsung screen. Maybe they have a different samsung model, but the sec5442 is excellent. The screen contrast is slightly, but noticeably better than the lp. I am happy that I requested this replacement.

Did you get to choose the SEC5442 model? Or did you get lucky?

People bothered 2 scratches for weeks, these scratches are way too expensive... not in terms of money, but of mentality
