Arg, my new dell E6400 just got a small scratch on the lid. It really bothers me because I can see it in most lighting even though it's not a big scratch. Part of the reason why I decided to buy a business line laptop is that it's suppose to be more durable. I have been careful with my laptop and it still got scratched. Does anybody know anything I can do to remove the scratch? Also, what is the most protective laptop sleeve for a 14.1 laptop with a 9 cell battery?

Seriously, if I can laminate my laptop cover and bottom, I will do it. It seems like the laptop gets scratched just because I accidentally bumped it against the zipper as I was putting it into my laptop bag. I can't be 100% careful all the time.

"I can't be 100% careful all the time."

Then you can't be 100% happy all the time ;)

Believe it or not, my got scratched on the palm rest as well...not even on the same side as my watch.

    And I am 100% careful.

Fortunately, we're only messing with the outside coat of paint...but it is still darn annoying.

well, I bought the shoreline 14 screen neoprene case. It can be left on even when I am using my computer so I don't have to worry about it. I don't know how durable it is yet, but at least it has good reviews. (the 14.1 screen model only has a 12.6 inch width for some reason).

I thought there was some kind of film you could "install" on the surface of a notebook to protect it? Gotta find the reference on NBR.

    Found it!

    Err....maybe not.

Thanks Greg, that looks very interesting except they don't have the exact fitting for a Dell E6400 yet. Well, I suppose I can buy the film for another model and trim, but that's a bit of a pain. I guess I'll use the sleeve for now and try this film thing later if the sleeve is not enough for protection or causes overheating.

Edit: Actually, I don't even know if I can trim the film. It looks super tough.

That's a great product. Although the Iphone screen is just as strong if not stronger since a brillo pad cannot scratch it and definitely not keys... Notice that what they actually scratch in the demo is the back of the iphone... The case is what needs protection..

Omg! It just got scratched again! I had been extra careful with it too. This is unacceptable. You may think I am crazy for returning it because of the scratches, but I think I would like a new scratch-free laptop. So how does the return system work?
