Where did you get the manual for the M4400 from? Was it shipped with the laptop?

Yes. There appears to be no Dell ControlPoint button though. Front and back views from manual below.

I live in Australia. The manual is 72 pages long. There is no service manual as of yet, but I will request one when it appears. Not sure whether I ordered it or they gave it to me.

The two ports on the left-hand side of the keyboard are NOT dual ports. The USB port is on top and the eSATA is on the bottom. The manual is a bit misleading.

No, it lists the USB ports twice, and there a total of FOUR on the machine. If you look carefully there is no place else they could have placed the fourth anyway. Besides, I have the machine in front of me, and next to eSATA it has the little USB icon.

Besides that, the only other gripe is the terrible sound quality in Windows XP. I have no intentions of moving to Vista any time soon to rectify the problem that way, as my scanner manufacturer (HP) does not provide Vista drivers... Sucks. I might be ordering that XFi MB after all because of this.

Mine doesnt have the license sticker either; I guess must be pre-activated the XP / vista installation dvds. I've installed both OSes from scratch, and was not ask for the serial number.
