    Why do you think it is quite prone to failing to conduct heat properly? And what you mean by IS?

    So I let 3DMark06 run for 3 hours and max CPU was 59C/60C (2 cores) and GPU 76C.

    Orthos CPU stress test get my CPU up to 60C/61C after 20 minutes run.

    I have my CPU undervolted (using RMClock) to 1.085V at 10x multiplier (which is 2.66GHz for each core)

    Can somebody tell me if 130W AC supply is bigger compared to E6500's 90W? Or better compared to D830's which i own.
    I'd appreciate if somebody to post the dims/weight.
    I was recently scared by XPS's supply which looks and weights like a real break %-)

    Choosing between 6500 and 440 as of now, i do like more the 4400's lid and availability of RGB-LED LCD...

    One user, "akwit" reports having to replace his motherboard multiple times until the temperatures finally went under control. My theory is that the thermal pads only conduct heat properly if they are exactly "in place", whatever that may be, and that it is very easy to have air bubbles or a misplaced thermal pad (recall that they expand under heat).

    Are you talking about M4400 or E6400?
    Two different TDP's and cooling system's,M4400 doesn't use thermal pad's except on the GPU's memory module's and northbridge,GPU and CPU core's use thermal paste/copper heatsink....no pad in between.

    Mine's similar to Pitrs81 with the P8600 cpu in it using any bios apart from A13.

    I am mostly talking of the E6400, but there are reports that copper modding the M4400 also produces great results.

    I'm not even sure whether there is more than one person here who has done it. Still, ofelas's case is enough to prove that copper modding gives good results, and that the thermal pads are not a good cooling solution, no?

    Another case which is not the E6400 is heinz2005's E6500. I'm not sure whether the cooling system of the E6500 is exactly the same as the M4400.

    There is no thermal pad between an M4400 GPU & it's copper heatsink - just thermal paste, and in my case - a whole bunch of air.
    The ONLY reason I copper modded my GPU is as I've stated before, there is almost no contact - an air gap in other words - between my GPU die & it's copper heatsink.
    If the factory heatsink made full contact with the GPU die, I would have just used paste, and would not have needed to use a copper shim to ensure contact.

    Finally joining the M4400 posse. Found a fairly decent deal on the Outlet and sprung for it. QX9300, 770M, RGBLED, 250GB 7200RPM HDD, 4GB RAM, DVD/RW, Back-lit Keyboard, 9 cell battery. Should be here this week, can't wait!

    I picked this up for work/possibly for home use to from the outlet for 1128:

    M4400 w/P9600 4gb Ram, 250gb 7200rpm HD, Backlight Keyboard, WXGA+ LED Screen, 770M Video, DVD Burner, 5300 Wireless N.
