No, that's too sofisticated for me... :)

I don't know if this has anything to do with your question, but I'm doing regular usage: MP3, Office, Windows Mobiles, Burning, Video 100+ tabs on firefox, mail all at the same time with no hog or problem at all. Dell's drivers for Vista 64 all work except Video and my Dell Wireless card, but then the OS installed them so no problem.

    Hi
I'm new to the forum and don't know if anyone has discussed this before, but I would like to know if there is a 90 watt power cable available for the M4400. I have recently purchased an M4400 and use the computer in a vehicle that has a 120v power inverter which keeps tripping when the 130w cable is plugged in.

    Thanks for the help.

Have a question... How can I lower the brightness via drivers? I have WXGA+ display and it is too much bright.

And second thing... How can I unlock overclocking option in nVidia Control Panel? I saw that on some pictures and it was nice. I found some coolbit on the internet but it didn't work :-(

One more note: I have A12 and I had underclocking after 2 hours of playing COD4. GPU temperature was 78C, CPU 53C and room temp was 24C... So it is not true that with A12 there is no underclocking.

Yup, just as weegie said, the spare 90W adapter from my old Precision M70 works just fine; in fact, so does the missus' 90W adapter from her E6400.

LOL!! You mean your M4400 is killing your Volkswagon? ;) Yes, as above it appears that several 90W adapters are compatible. I would like to try one myself..

Question wg/of: Would 90w vs 130w effectively undervolt your pc? Or does voltage into your battery only affect charging speed.

Do you mean you're running Vista x64 or Windows 7? The OS installed Nvidia's beta 7 driver?

Press ctrl+shift+esc and tell us what it shows for %ram usage, then load all your usual programs and work and tell us what it shows then -

...And, dude thats a lot of FF windows!

Please, is here somebody who can tell me how to reduce my WXGA+ display brightness? Of course I know about FN+Down, but I don't mean that. What I mean is some software reducing like in the ATI CCC. Does nVidia have something like that?

EDIT: Resolved... With nVidia (mean non Dell stock) drivers there is a option in nVidia Control Panel like in ATI CCC :)

BTW: I thought that if I enter my TAG on DELL drivers it will filter only drivers for devices in my laptop. But it offers me all the drivers so it wasn't big help for me.

I use a 90W adapter a lot on my QX9300 based M4400, w/ 2 hard drives, etc (Should be the most power hungry config possible). I can charge my computer while running it hard. It will not undervolt the computer; both adapters are putting out the same voltage. It's the current that's different on a 90W vs 130W adapter. Theoretically, the 130W is capable of charging significantly faster, but the 90W will have less power draw on your electricity (so it saves a little $$). The PA-10 and I believe PA-3e are the two most recent 90W adapters that will work. Also, on boot, the BIOS does not give any warning about the current being too low when using a 90W adapter and recognizes it correctly, which means that they shouldn't have any issue running a lower current.

I've decided I'm going to buy the M4400 as my next laptop, and that I'll get it at the Dell Outlet. Are there any coupons that I should wait for that I can use in the outlet, or are the coupons just for new machines?
