Which I have confirmed are the latest.

I've noticed that the upper left 9th of my display has a rose hue to the whites, this is the area where the flicker is most noticeable. I'm suspecting I've got a slightly defective backlight.

Does anyone have a lag on the touchpad? It seems to take a split second between when my finger hits the touchpad and the cursor starts moving. I find it fairly noticeable. If I uninstall the Alps driver, the lag goes away but the cursor moves very slowly even if I bump the mouse cursor speed in the control panel to max. If I reinstall the Alps drivers, the speed resumes fine, but the lag drives me batty.

I have tried the latest A09 drivers from dell.

Have you tried turning down or off palm detection in the Alps driver?

Yes, and I've tried turning off other various features, too. You don't have this symptom?

No, not at all. And I've never heard of such an occurrence before.

OK, Thanks - I'll be calling support then. Its very subtle; almost have to be watching for it.

If no one else has it, must be a defective touchpad.

Hey Nyceis, I noticed the same thing. In addition to sporadic "skipping" (where the touchpad would lose track of motion, sometimes only for an instant, sometimes for a few seconds), I always felt like there was a little input lag, as if the cursor was a little sluggish. I never felt that with my T61p or R51 UltraNav touchpad. I tried it on the M4400 under XP, Vista, and Windows 7...it felt the same on all. I also believe that installing the drivers made it happen (or made it more noticeable), but using the default Windows drivers wasn't perfect either. I ended up returning my M4400 because of it.

I have these issues too and also don't know how to resolve it.

in 3. I'll try to play more with touchpad zoom settings. I hope that could fix it.

What do you thing about keyboard solidity? Mine is quite wavy and soft so if I press some key little bit harder it is sagging. I was used to have a tough keyboard on my previous Asus laptop and I also expected it from Dell. It is not a real problem at all, but I was disappointed with keyboard quality.
