Ryan - it is available through eBay - that particular auction just doesn't list that keyboard working with the v131 - but it sure does look to be the same - I took a chance and ordered. djklmnop, can you confirm that is the correct part number?

It should be correct. I pulled it directly from my Dell order part list.

Can anyone confirm that the Dell 131 I5 2450M has AES-NI in operation ? I need a laptop that will offer the extra processing option to Truecrypt so would love to hear from anyone that has it running using that feature. Intel says it should work but it could of course be not implemented by the BIOS.
    Thanks in advance

I bought an Outlet V131 just before Christmas and had to get a replacement due to a crack appeared on the palm rest within 7 days. Getting the replacement was a hassle but it arrived eventually. Now after 17 days the replacement won't turn on.

It was in stand by/sleep mode when I turned it on today. The lights lit up but nothing appeared on the screen. There was then a series of beeps and then I pressed the power button again. The laptop now won't turn on at all. With or without the battery or AC adapter. No combination of either. The power light on the front of the laptop doesn't light up either.

I've contacted Dell again and I really hope I can get a working V131 finally because I really like it!

Anyone experienced similar and have any ideas to recover it?

I've had a similar issue with my Acer laptop: Acer 8172 Travelmate TM8172T - YouTube

The thing is, this is a business laptop, as a standard you have next day on-site repair. Why arent you guys taking advantage of it? You're gonna need a new motherboard.

Give it a chance. These are all just branded parts put together and given a name: Dell. So whether it's a Dell, or Acer, or Sony; someone put the parts together, so it's bound to happen from company to company. Now the cracking is a bit suspicious. Ive even pushed down on the touchpad section and I can feel it's very weak, but I make it a point not to throw any weight in that particular area.

DUDE! I had the same thing happen to mine. If you look at my posts a few pages back you will see that I had the EXACT thing happen. I used it, put it to sleep/hibernate and poof... it would not turn on at all the next day. I had to call dell and I was so frustrated that I asked for a full refund (even though I got a great deal due to refurb and 25% off coupon). I ended up getting my full refund back today.... in case anyone was wondering.

I ended up waiting for a new round of coupons and got a sweet deal on the 15z in my signature.

hi guys ... i have just bought this one because local stores here couldn't deliver ASUS UX31 in proper time and I wanted a notebook now ...

the only bad thing about this notebook is that it has worse screen than my 2007 MSI with 12" wide screen ... didn't test it much anyway ! ( lower brightness too )

together with this notebook I bought INTEL 520 series, 240gb SSD and more 4gigabytes of DDR3 ... the problem is that I can see SSD in BIOS, But Windows does not recognize the drive ....

What can I do ?? I don't want to use HDD and I just bought the best SSD I think that there is .. ( speed and stable )

Please help me ... I don't wanna move back to HDD :(

Slackware 13 / Linux works just perfect ! I partitioned the SSD and it started installations...

LE: When I opened the back of the notebook, above the HDD/SSD location there is another port which was empty for me ... is there the 3G modem location ?? I have one from my wife's old Dell D830 and I am wondering if it works ?? Also I saw that there are two wires like antenna wires which come to that location.

My wife's old D830 does not have those wires attached to the WWAN card.

    Thank you !

LE2: Do I have to install some extra drivers in windows setup ?
