    Dell Vostro V131 Review & Rating | PCMag.com

    UK Dell-
New Vostro V131 Laptop Details | Dell UK

Backlit Keyboard, Removable 6-Cell battery (65Wh), HD300 Graphics, Fingerprint Reader and Chicket Keyboard all seem to be the big updates, its slightly thicker as well.

I think there is an optional 4-Cell (44Whr) battery that sits flush.

Its now 1.8Kg with the 6-Cell battery, and 21mm overall thickness.

The Intel Pentium 847 processor has Intel HD 2000 graphics, not HD 3000.

    Dell V131 - Mobility Update

Anybody knows anything about this GPU?

Thanks, let's hope it can do 1080p and if it does that, we will have more battery life with 847 Celeron as it packs half shaders and consumes less power than core i series CPUs:cool:

I have done 1080p on my Vaio, which has the older 4500HD, and ulv C2D cpu; so, I don't see why the V131 with the Celeron cpu and HD 2000 gpu couldn't. I do like that for the price you get two usb 3.0 ports, and the battery life. However, it seem like the screen quality may not be up to what I am use to, or else I would be taking a serious look at this model .

Could someone point me towards the backlit option as all I see is the separate backlit keyboard that you plug into the thing???

Internal keyboard yet it states, "Increase your options with a separate keyboard"

    Only kidding... they've made a mistake :)

    Can the i5 2410M turbo boost? I think the competitor of V131 is HP's 5330m which has i5 2420M.

Also in PCMag they give the Vostro a very low PCMarkVantage. IT should be a mistake.

The V130 did have a very impressive cooling system and an Ubuntu linux option - making it an interesting Macbook Air alternative, if you could look past the 2+ hour battery life.

The V131 doesn't appear to have any obvious selling points, other than the fact that it's thin. Otherwise, it appears to be a contemporary Windows notebook PC. But heck, what's the difference between this and an "ultrabook?"

Overall, not a compelling value, and not a serious competitor for the Macbook Air. Nothing "ultra" about this notebook.

In hindsight, the V130 at least had that interesting cooling system. Sorry to see that feature go.

The V131 has the same cooling system as the V130.
