    I see v131 avaible.

Kensic i don't know about this, but use only dell drivers for display and graphics. Not the ones w7 gives or intel home page

Looks like they stop v13x serie? Wow i really like mine, only display is not great, but battery life rocks and it is very handy when the battery stick out ( air + angle for keyboard)

if any v pilots looking for alternative, i normally don't favor dell notebooks [though I worked for them.. just not their strong suit] but recently got curious of the 'sleeper' variously callend inspiron 1121, 11z, m101z, et al... has developed quite the stealth following in part due to batt life and in part due to excellent build, above par display [dunno what it is, but its good for a cheap buy], big memory capacity, snappy perf, wifi + WLAN, HDMI vid-out that can actually work with some careful tweaks.

this thread is dying, but yea i cant believe they stopped the V line. i really love my v131, i wish i had purchased the i5 for more power.

do you guys think the screen can be upgraded to an after market 1440 x 900 or 1600 x 900 screen? do they even make them for our size?

I don't think you can do that.
So far 1 year with my v131 i5. Really good thing, looking now for 13.3 inch laptop for sister i have found out, that they have smalelr battery (also 17 cpu), but they can't stand to my i5 and 6 cell battery, which is great and I make the day without cord.
There was vew flex things, but otherwise its great laptop for the price.

I know the thread isn't seeing much activity, but I was hoping someone could help me out with a heat problem I'm having.

For the first six months of having this, everything was perfect, no complaints.

Then, the hard drive started making a spinning noise all the time. The fan was also on about 70% of the time. 90% of my use on this is low-intensity Internet/Office so I don't see what could be causing the heat. I thought it might be dust clogging the fan, but it looks like I would have to open up the entire back casing in order to blow out the dust on the fans, and I'm not sure If I;m supposed to do that or if it's a warranty thing.

Because of the heat being generated now, even in largely idle circumstances (1 Flash video playing, for instance) the palmrest is extremely warm and uncomfortable to use. Should I call support and have someone blow out the fans? What about the HDD noise? It's much louder than it was initially and seems like it's whirring all the time even though the HDD light suggests that there's minimal load on the system.

It's probably the drive, did you see if there are any firmware updates on it? Sometimes firmware updates can quiet down noisy drives, you could try quietHDD and trying fiddling with AAM/APM settings.
