Funnily enough, I was just looking at the V130 yesterday and was curious why they'd removed the Ubuntu option. And today they reveal the V131 with surprise, no cheaper Ubuntu option. Along with the smaller capacity battery (and if it sits flush like a previous poster suggested, then I'd actually prefer this aesthetically), they perhaps could've made a $400 model which I would've snapped up with no hesitation. I'm still using a V13, which I love, but HDMI/backlit/chiclet/USB3 is a compelling upgrade.

As for the lack of the V130's cooling system, I don't think this will be an issue at least with the Celeron, which is one of the new sandy bridge CULVs. A bit surprised that they're using the old 35w processors for the higher models - perhaps Apple's Air has cornered up the market on those for now.

edit: @wii, I don't think it does, since I can't find any mention of "hyperbaric cooling" or whatever that mumbo jumbo was called. Looking at the pictures, there are only vents along the left side, which suggests to me that it's only for exhaust not intake. Sadly, this will probably mean that if there is a lot of heat generation, it'll be centered near the left typing hand just like a lot of laptops, instead of far in the back and unnoticeable.

It doesn't appear to be. The V130 had exhaust vents in the back, somewhat, but not exactly like a Macbook. The V131 looks like a conventional notebook PC, with a side exhaust, so there are probably bottom vents. Yeah, I know they had to do it because of the bigger, removeable battery, but all the same, it took away the one major selling point.

It is actually using the same cooling system.

    It says in feature page:
"Help your system stay cool and quiet with Hyperbaric Cooling, and Intel Advanced Cooling Technology"

I am wondering if the 6-cell battery it comes with sits flush with laptop...

No, unfortunately. Seems to jut out more than similar laptop batteries, at least relative to the thinness of the v131.

Hm... It is weird because laptops usually come with default battery that sits flush with laptop, and optional high capacity battery that sticks out.

It seems the other way around with this laptop, and I can't find a way to configure it with 4-cell battery that sits flush. I rather have a flush battery since I am pretty much going to carry power adapters anyways.

Does anyone know what size hard drive is in this ? 2.5 inch? Think it will fit a regular SSD drive inside it? Thanks!

Given the V130/V13/Latitude 13 were 2.5", it would be safe to assume with a similar chassis design it would utilize 2.5" again..

I'm getting to like the tilted type of design as it's better for typing (I hope) like the standard keyboard.

Personally I'd prefer the choice of three battery options
    Standard
    As above
Mega Super Awesome fifty weeks extended battery

Yes, it can Turbo boost. It runs at 2.6GHz under turbo boost mode.
