It all depends on what I'm doing, playing HD movies/series via HDMI over the network gives me 6 hours maybe with some web-surfing between shows/movies (got sick one day ;). I have not used it a lot away from the power outlet though. But the battery life os good without a doubt.

Btw, has anyone seen anything about finding a 4-cell battery for it? I'd really like to have the option to have it slim for the non-long days.

talking about battery.... my V131 always stop charging when the battery level reaches 70-72%. Is it a "design" to protect the battery and extend the battery life?

I get about 9 hours with the keyboard backlight off. When it's on, it takes about 2 hours of battery life off.

Sweet battery life! Are those with the i3 or i5?
I am going to buy one and test it to see if it is better than my x220 which I am returning.

Are there any heat or fan issues with the i3/i5 that I should know about?

I got the i5 and heat isn't really an issue since the fan settings are fairly aggressive. For example running SC2 produces a LOT of warm air but the temps never get out of hand.

The cooling fans are turned off most of the time when browsing and similar, they will spin up occasionally though if the CPU temp reaches 50-55+ and since it's almost completely silent when they are still the contrast will make them sound like a hair-dryer when in reality it's not so bad (unless you're pushing the gpu/cpu really hard then it will actually sound like a hair dryer but that is to be expected).

I used an online sales chat and got a couple V131's with:

Core i5-2410M, 4GB RAM (1 DIMM), 500GB HDD, Backlit KB, Fingerprint Reader, Webcam, and Dell 5800 4G LTE WWAN card for $709 each.

Considering the 4G cards are worth $250 by themselves, it seemed like a good deal. :)
