I doubt it's going to be that expensive at medium spec. I think 'IloveRAM' is having some jealousy issue because he just got a M4400 :p

Lol, no but I mean 16GB, 2 HDs, 2 GPUs...configure that anywhere else on a laptop its pretty darn expensive! And this Dell we're talking about, from the Business line. Not even Home line, meaning discounts are gonna be hard to find...

It should be a lot better price if you buy the RAM and HDDs yourself... But if you're getting this beast, you should at least be getting a decent CPU, GPU, and screen... at least that's my plan...

LOL. But seriously, 16GB, 2 GPUs (is that an option on M6400?) isn't considered medium spec. That's full blown spec. And this is Dell that we're talking about, not Lenovo, or HP. I mean, the M4400 starts at below $1500. Try that with a W400 (if Lenovo decides to make one). Or HP6930W.

It's really time to get released. After reading that it will have 2 MBs, now it comes with 2 gpus...

well, they can take the crappy route as AW did... offer only the upper tier selections and lock the price range up there...

    that is what i fear...

but again... all speculations... let's see what happens...

Regarding pricng... HP's 8730w is priced at $2300-$3200 for a FX2700M equipped model. Add $500 for a FX3700 and $500 for "dreamcolor" (just a guess) and you're looking at numbers in the $3300-$4200 range.

    Lenovo's W700 starts at $3000 with a FX2700M... add WUXGA and a FX3700 and you're looking at prices starting at $3600.

Add more RAM, a high-end CPU, and a big hard drive to any of these configurations and you could be looking at an additional $500-1000.

Unless DELL severely undercuts the competition (which is doubtful given its claims of building the highest-end workstation laptop in the business), I would guess prices for the M6400 would be pretty close to these two competitors (probably on the low side rather than the high side, though).

The W700 is probably a good benchmark. Unfortunately as soon as you add the QX9300 (quad core) the price starts at 4253.00 US
