    The W700 is out now, although shipping date is set in 4 weeks. I wonder when Dell is coming out with m6400. It is September.

    i think maybe dell will wait to see what apple do with the mac book pro before they release the m6400?
    This would give them the chance to make any last min changes if necessary,to compete with apples new baby

    I doubt this is the case. The specs on this notebook are very solid, much better than you will find in a MBP for a while.

    Yea, I doubt MBP can compete with M6400. Infact, they're marketed for two different markets.

    W700 looks good but I'm hoping this thing will come out and force some price competition. Lenovo's charging more for some components on the W700 than they charge for the same components on other models right now.

    was hoping to be able to snatch one at mid spec at round $3k...

    I'm hoping you're right on the price. For $5K it better have a nap-mode, where I take a nap and it continues doing my work.

    Does anyone know from experience how long it usually takes for Dell's prices to drop from its initial release??
