    That's quite interesting. I got one in December of 2008, but Dell seems to have problems with the RGBLED in M4400s lately. Maybe they're preparing to replace the RGBLED screen option of the M4400 with something else, like a newer revision or something like that. Hopefully this means that the M4500 will arrive soon. :)

    I think you can still pick up one through the Dell Outlet, but through the main ordering screen where you customize your order the option is not available right now. It's liable to show up again in a couple of weeks!

    I'm definitively unhappy and exhausted with the WUXGA 2CCFL panels of M4400.

    I have had four change panels in a year and half.

    The first three panels (LG, Samsung and LG) had problems with little lines and dots that appeared in the screen. Some pics:

    Now, I've a new Samsung panel, much brighter than the three others (I set up brightness to 40-50% meanwhile I worked at 80% in the previous panels). But this new panel looks like:

    I ask for another replacement, and Dell sent me a refurbished LG with horrible contrast that I have returned back.

    What can I do?

    By the way, this is the comparative side by side between Studio 1555 WLED FHD Truelife and M4400 WUXGA 2CCFL (Samsung SEC5443), both with white background and full brightness.

    Can anyone upload some photos of 2CCFL WUXGA in a dark room, full brightness, with black and white background? So I will see if this is a normal behaviour.

    Thank you!

    @checho

    I went through hell replacing the panel on my m4400 late last year. Wasn't the 2CCFL (but i did have one at one point). I basically had to keep rejecting the panels and have Dell send out new ones until I got one that I could live with - I think it was 4 in my case. The techs were great to work with. Dell even replaced my whole laptop at one point in case it was something the mobo or cabling causing the issue. But the issue is really the poor quality of their inventory.

    I have the WUXGA RGB-LED TrueLife panel in my M4400, which I bought from the outlet not too long ago. It's really nice compared to the WLED 1080p on the E6510 I had for a while, but when I look at it up close I can "see" the refreshing of the pixels in a sort-of lattice-like pattern, in both 40Hz and 60Hz modes. 40Hz also makes the display flicker like a CRT. Does anyone else have this issue?

    Where can I check in windows that shows I have an RGD LED SCREEN and not just a regular LED SCREEN?

    There is a huge screen real estate difference between the two.

    WXGA = 1366 x 768
    WUXGA = 1920 x 1200 (120% larger real estate)

    I would chose WUXGA.
