I assume as soon as you patch the bios with P01, on the first DELL splashscreen you can read P01 instead of A01 ?
and then flash with A02 ??

what happen if you try directly with A02 ?

I didn't try flashing directly A02, but flashing P01 did not change the version to P01 nor A01.1- it remained just A01.

Can one of the owners post what voltage the RAM for this laptop is supposed to be? 1.5V?

    I'm thinking about buying the Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory Model 996647. Wonder if this will work.

    Thanks.

I used a USB drive with FreeDOS installed. Booted FreeDOS. Copied P01 and A02 to the thumb drive and installed P01 and A02 without any problems.

I opened an issue with DELL tech support and told them the BIOS would not run from inside 64 Bit Windows 7. They responded by sending the instructions to download and update the BIOS from inside Windows. Never addressed the 64 Bit issue!
