The TDP of the i7-620M is only 35W, so a 90W PSU is enough. In fact, a 65W PSU should be OK if you have the Intel GPU (which is part of that 35W).

It's the quad core i7s that need a bigger PSU.

    Thank you John.

Actually I was thinking to take the configuration with the nVidia NVS 3100M (which googling around it seems like alone it requires 14W ?).

So just to confirm, a config with the i7-620M and nVidia NVS 3100M should runs nicely with a 90W power adapter, shouldn't it?

    Thanks.

I can't think of any good reason why the 90W PSU would not be up to the task of powering your configuration. I haven't seen any reports from E6410 / E6510 owners of problems due to the 90W PSU being insufficient. However, there several reports suggesting that the i7-620M runs a bit hotter than the i5 CPUs.

Hi John, I had two quickies for you please, one might have been asked before, sorry to ask again. From my earlier post

And lastly, have you seen any reports from E6410/6510 not getting the Microsoft Product Key sticker on the back? I got the Windows 7 Pro 64bit Recovery Disk, which on the cover says the sticker should be on the back, but it isn't. Just waiting for Tuesday to call Dell (Monday holiday in Canada )

    Thanks :)

Thank you John for the clarifications. I'm going to order this laptop in the next days I think.

Yes, you can use the product key and do a fresh install, or even better use my ABR program to backup the OEM key and activation, and then restore it after you do the install.

As for the sticker, look under your battery.

Received mine on Friday (5/21) and have been playing with this for a couple of days. I have LG screen and is very bright. This is the first full-size laptop with a matte screen I've been using, and I must say I'm very satisfied. Laptop feels quite sturdy, especially compared to a Vostro 1520, but I still feel like my inspiron E1505's case is stronger - maybe because it's more bulky?

This thing's got very loud speakers. Although I use external speakers, I was quite surprised. Also it's overall very cool. I've never run CPU or GPU intensive softwares yet, but given my previous experience with Studio 1558 having heat near palm rest even when idle, this stays cool.

Just found out there's some high pitch noise coming on and off intermittently. Is this coming from the hard drive on the left hand side?

With wireless N - I have advanced N 6200 - I only get 65 mbps though, while I get 150 with my netbook (samsung n130). Not sluggish or anything, but I wonder if my $300 netbook has a better wlan card.

Overall, I'm VERY satisfied with this laptop with the price I paid (~$1200 with 3yr CC and specs below) and hope it doesn't fail me for a long time. :D

Hi all, a few quick questions while considering the E6510:

    * Does the 9-cell battery fit completely inside the laptop, or does it stick out like with the D630 ?

    * Is there room for a secondary battery in the media bay ?

    * I'm confused by the term 'anti-glare', is this glass with coating, or matte like the D830 ?

    Thank you!

The 9-cell sticks out, while the 6-cell fits without sticking out.

The media bay cannot take a second battery. You can have a second battery that goes UNDER the laptop, it connects through the docking port (it's called "battery slice").

    Anti-glare should mean matte.
