    You need to change the cable.

    I used Ebay Item number: 251105860662 on the cable and AUO Matte screen.

    I can confirm that the WXGA+ HD+ 1600x900 LCD used in the E6430 will also work on the E6420. I just bought a Samsung LTN140KT07, Dell part number HND16, and put it in my E6420 and it works perfectly. Just make sure you have the 2 channel LCD cable, part number XJJFC. So, here is the updated list of HD+ LCDs that will work on the E6420:

    GJ494
    WJ139
    HND16
