I had similar problem with my 5100 wireless card from Intel.
The solution was the above but also it could be that Dell Control Point screws up your wireless card. You can check this by stopping and disabling all Dell Control Point services (run: services.msc to see a list of all services), and restart your computer.

If that is the case, uninstall Dell Control Point and it's associate program, restart your computer, and download and install the latest Dell Control Point software (don't install the connection manager at the moment. Dell told me that if it doesn't help, now install Dell Connection Manager, restart your computer and see if it helps.) If no success, then your wireless card might be faulty.

    Sounds a little stupid
How do you use the number lock?
I activate fn+f4 but the letters get written not numbers?
Only if i press fn+k for example now it works as 2

    that's how it works
    step 1 - Fn+F4 = activate numlock
    step 2 - Fn+keys = using numlock

I think it would be harder if the letters would really be locked as numbers if you have to use both at the same time.

I confirm what you are seeing. I hadn't noticed this before because I don't use the embedded numeric keypad. However, i wonder if it is bug that has crept into one of the 20 BIOS updates.

LPTP-LVR is right, this is how it is supposed to work. Not a bug.

OK: Not a bug but it is dubious design: Why not just tweak the BIOS so that pressing Fn+num key = number without needing to toggle the NumLock?

when i want to use both i use upper numbers
but if i want to calculate or type some numbers fast, i need it to work simply without fn.

Take a screw driver, remove the left and right silver plates left and right of the battery, and now tighten the bottom screws real tight. Put back the silver plates, and your good as new.
