So the moral of the story is to install every driver, even if you dont "need" it

    +REP for your help

Aside from some flex on the keyboard and screen, fan noise my atg is perfect.

I had a thought of buying a SSD in the future, When do you guys thing a intel SSD of about 160-260GB will have reasonable prices?

Good to know a place of experts which will solve any problem.

Much of the performance gain provided by SSDs comes from the <1m access time. The Intel SSD might offer the best performance but you won't notice the difference between it and the others unless you use benchmarks. It's a lit like being able to notice the difference between 2.4 and 2.8GHz dual core CPUs when you are are used to a 1.6GHz single core CPU.

GDay everyone. So I went out and bought a VGA to RCA converter and plugged in the adapter into the analog plug on the left side of the E6400. Windows 7 see's there is an analog device, but no matter what I do to the resolution or refresh rate, the picture on my tv looks like I have the horizontal & vertical hold off, works fine for my dvd and digital set top box. So I thought it might be a PAL/NTSC issue, but cant for the life of me find in the nVidia Control Panel where to change it? Is there something else I am missing?

Would it happen to be a Seagate hard drive? What sort of noise or sounds are you hearing? And is it 5400rpm or 7200rpm?

Have you downloaded the update from the Dell Support site for it? There is a specific firmware update for Seagate 7200rpm hard drives (including your model number) to reduce/correct clicking noises. If you go to the driver's download page, it's listed under SATA drives- LINK

you actually can use your educational discount for any configuration you want (i bought mine though their program). and i would strongly consider talking to the harvard rep -- you may be able to get a good discount.
