When one hand is on the palmrest and the other on the touchpad , the arrow runs randomly too fast than too slow, its not something in settings, this happens with e6400 and 6410 drivers
    not with toshiba
but it still lags, and its not accurate, ALPS after all

    2. i tightened the screws and i hope it lasts but the last time at the service center they told me that some part from the inside broke cracked.

    3. Still the important things like temperature, and its working at least so im not that mad on dell
    but small things count also,
And i know hp laptops which have the fan running on max even when web browsing, no its not full of dust and its the newest drivers, so im not saying theyre better, no comment about gaybook

So I decided to order myself a E6510 yesterday.

Boy did I screw up the order. I ordered the i-740qm 1.7ghz processor instead of the i-640m. I HOPE to God they can change the order or I'm going to get stiffed with the 15% return. I also used a 38% off coupon and ended up paying $1200 shipped.

    Specs are as follows:
2gb of ram - ordered 8 gigs from newegg
    64 bit windows professional
full HD screen with discrete graphics
    modem
    fingerprint reader
    bluetooth
    250gb 7200rpm HDD
    dvd-rw
    backlit keyboard
    webcam
    smartcard reader
    intel 6300 wifi

Keeping my fingers crossed that I can get the processor changed.

What arrows? You mean when you use the touchpad scroll feature, it scrolls your content to fast?

AHHHHHHHHHH! Now I understand. So you are saying that the sensitivity changed. Sometimes the cursor is easy to move, and others hard.

I had this problem... until I got my palm rest several month ago. It's the plastic texture that gets dirty.
Wen I got my new palm rest, I noticed that the plastic sheet on the track pad has changed (new revision?!), my finger slides way better, and requires much less cleaning. The only time I have this problem now, is when the pad is too grease. A good clean with a nice micro fiber cloth and it's back to be very smooth. I clean it once every 2 month, then again I don't use much. So maybe consider once a month.

The rest is all about adjusting the touchpad sensitivity to your fingers.

Assuming that you do mean the E6410 (in which case you are in the wrong forum), then read Dell's service manual. (If you have the E6400 then Google for "E6400 service manual").

I gave myself a challenge to use uniquely my laptop all day, with the touchpad only... and I see your problem, but as soon as I wipe it off, it's perfect again... i think the touchpad isn't great as soon as you have a bit of oil. But it does mean, 2-3 hours of usage before it happens. Oh well. Long life Alps.

There really aren't any issues with the latest touchpad drivers. I simply update from the Dell Support site using the Express Service Tag.
