    (i) How old is the battery? (ii) run the computer on battery until Windows shuts down, then start up the computer, go into the BIOS setup and leave the computer running until it stops. This will do a full discharge of the battery and enable it to be properly calibrated.

I would expect that to be covered by the Intel chipset driver /software which should be one of the first things to be installed (after the "install this first" system software package).

this is where you tap the smartcard

our hotel uses those smart cards that changes the key code depending th eroom number.... they just place the card on top on the palmrest, and it reads the data.

Quick question. I searched this forum regarding the ddr2/ddr3 compatibility and whether or not it was an upgrade. Now assuming no performance gain with ddr3, is there any reason for me not to go with ddr3 when 4gb (2X2gb) is $65 and ddr2 is $72?

    I currently have 2gb (2X1gb) of ddr2.

You can't use DDR3 in an E6400. As such, there's definitely a reason not to get DDR3...

If youre on the ram theme i've got a question.

I randomly get a blue screen or sometimes the screen remains black all lights switch off only power remains.
This happens after bios post, windows green charging bar and right when the logo is supposed to be, i get the error.
I dont insert new hardware before or after this. Everything is stable.

    The blue screen says: "IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal"
down the screen: "0x0000000A" and so on.
As i see it its either a Ram problem, or a driver problem.
I started getting this error about 2 months ago. I think thats when i installed a new driver. How can i see the driver install history or should i check it in browser history...

Please help its very annoying. Im loosing my confidence in computers day by day
First my previous desktop(very many problems but different ones) and now this.
