Already tried that. The only thing that has helped so far was to disable the 802.11a and it worked for a while. Day after that the problem reappeared and the activation and deactivation no longer helps. The popping sound can be heard only at the first second of a sound, and after pouse/play of music and movies

I've completely removed the dell drivers and I feel that this helped a bit but the problem still remains. It is very annoying, when I'm writing a text sometimes text selector automatically moves and it changes the content of the text you write. Sometimes it automatically changes the active window. For example I'm writing in the browser address bar and the text selector is moving to the beginning of the url or in another field of the browser

US warranties are not valid in Europe. I know that for a long time, the same goes for HP. But even if something has changed I do not have the necessary documents do not even know the full name of previous owner.
Have any of you used U.S. warranty in a European country?
Warranty transfer between europeen countries is not even necessary. I've already used the warranty for a laptop bought from another European country.

Are you using the latest BIOS and IDT audio drivers? If not, install them. If so, then read through the latency thread.

Yes I'm with A27 and latest IDT drivers. I've just found that when I turn off my Wireless card, DPC Latency stays 99% on the green zone. I will read the entire thread again. Thanks
I still hope someone can help me with the differences between the lids

Hi my E6400 came with 65W charger.
    when i run win7 performance test i got 2.3 points. but when i connected to 90W i got 5.9 points (CPU P8600)
is it posible to get 5.9 with 65w ch. can i disable that power option.
And another Q. does NVS 160 accelerates H.264 rendering reducing CPU usage ?

Which GPU and BIOS version do you have?

If your E6400 has the Intel graphics then it should run at full speed on a 65W PSU (but you will also need a BIOS newer than December 2008). If you have the Nvidia GPU then you should not have received a 65W PSU because it is inadequate to meet the potential power demands and Dell has set the BIOS to throttle the CPU if you have that hardware / PSU combination. It is, however, possible to overcome the CPU throttling using either RMClock or ThrottleStop, but do so at your own risk.

And I would expect that the Nvidia GPU supports H.264 decoding: The Intel GM45 GPU does.

No mater your GPU, I would still call Dell for the 90W PSU, just to be safe. Remember that the wattage of a PSU is just the maximum it can deliver. The 90W slim PSU from the Latitude E series, it really nice, it's much smaller than the traditional 90W which they offer on the other, lower end models, making it worth getting.

When the E6400 was out, the only option it had, well in Canada was the 90W PSU. I suggest to get it. I am assuming that it was just a human error from the sales rep, or the person that boxed your computer.

I have NVS 160 and newest BIOS A27.
i will contact sales person and change to 90W slim.
I think NVS 160 sould decode H.264 but it doesnt because i run 720p with MPC player and cpu goes 80-90% with litle lag.
how do i need to turn it on ?
also my battery is acting wierd

it shouldn't be 41% at wear level

If you run Windows 7 I have a better alternative.. one that will actually gain you battery life. I know it will sound strange. But I was shocked when I saw this. Now, it's nothing ground breaking, you wont' save 5 hours of battery life. Just several minute (about 35min in my test) on a 9-cell battery. And have kick- performance, even when playing 1080p videos, with complete GPU support.

    Interested? Of course you are!
Shark007 codec pack (32 and 64-bit), for Windows Media Player 12 32/64-bit (and Media Center of course).

Let me explain, before you come to conclusions:
    - Windows Media Player 12 is actually 2 players in one. You have the light player that opens up when you double click on a audio/video file. This one is extremely light, allowing you to watch/listen your video/audio instantly. (Player opens instantly). The second component is the larger one which allows you to manage your music and video's. Personally I don't use it.

    - Windows Media Player 12 in available in both flavor 32 and 64-bit under Windows 7 64-bit. See C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86). The default one is set to be 32-bit.

    - What 's this "Shark007"? Why use this, when I can use other codecs pack that I trust?
Shark007 is a free codec pack designed for Vista and Windows 7 for both 32 and 64-bit. it is the ONLY codec pack that doesn't conflict or override Windows Vista/7 excellent GPU accelerated built-in codecs. It also can play about everything. Once installed. I can tell you, you won't need to worry about it updating or anything. It's like Media Player merged with VLC (in term of playing videos) and in 64-bit. Never have a problem with it. While the other codecs packs, disables essentially all Windows codecs and uses it's own, for the better or the worse, and now you have conflicts.

    - Shark007 comes with a nice Control Panel of sort which allows you to manage your codecs, like you can say "I want this codec to be used and NOT Windows ones, because I have specific reason", for every codec. So it give you flexibility, in the case you have problem. It allows allows you to change options that are common between all codecs it holds. Moreover, it comes with 2 cool features. The first is a radio box that once selected, will change all shortcuts on your computer from Windows Media Player 12 32-bit to the 64-bit version. And under "Help" Tab, you have a nice Associate button, which will change all file extensions from the 32 to 64-bit Media Player versions in one click. No need to do it manually for every file type.

As Shark007 doesn't override any codec settings, be sure to uninstall any codec packs that you have, including Real player, and DivX web player/codec.

    32-bit (install first): Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs - WMP12 Codecs
    64-bit: Shark007.net - Windows 7 x64 Codecs - WMP12 Codecs

Don't be fooled by the website, you will NOT regret it.

100% of the people I recommended Shark007, loves it, and ended up never believing in using Windows Media Player (well the 12 one)
