Received my Latitude E6500 and I love it so far! Have to get a new DVD-RW drive as it is faulty and DELL forgot to give me the product key sticker on bottom of unit. There are also little dark spots on the left and right bottom corners of the Wide Screen WUXGA LCD 1900 x 1200 res. Hope the dark spots go away. If not, maybe I will ask for a new screen. Also the audio is kind of tinny. I tried to download the new audio driver using my service tag number on the DELL website and when I install the recommended driver for my unit, it tells me that the driver is incorrect. I will be calling DELL on Monday morning to discuss all of the issues.

    Here are my specs:

Hmmmm, John Ratsey and a few others are reporting burner issues as well on the E6400.

What is the point of this? For the premium you paid Dell you could've gotten 8GB at NewEgg for 7/10s the price.

I just checked the site, and am I reading this correctly, +$540 off the lowest starting price? Eek.

Yes, it's $540 for a 4GB stick from them. Even their accessories page sells it for cheaper!

Wow, way to do research before purchasing...

Well, just make sure that when you call Dell you tell them you want to change the order to have just a 1GB 1DIMM stick of RAM. Buy from NewEgg, or any other non-Dell site, for RAM.

My sales person gave me an outstanding deal and Crucial (where I get all my RAM) did not have 4GB sticks for the E6500 available yet. So, I am happy with my deal. This baby is worth it. :) Now to wait for the 4GB stick to come into stock and I'll be all set.

Dell's RAM certainly won't be Crucial...I hope the sales rep didn't tell you that.

Unless that outstanding deal involved ~$450-500 off just for the RAM upgrade you got ripped off. Seriously ripped off.

If that's the case, then good for you ;).

Have fun with those waiting times :( Im not sure why you need Crucial, I don't think Crucial even has 4GB modules out. With 4GB of awesomeness, you can just settle for G.Skill's $170 sticks even though clock speeds are a little lower (533)...no waiting times from NewEgg either.

But, oh well. It's your machine.
