Screenshot from the Dell AiPac site confirming the 9/16 date--at least for Malaysia.

The E4200 is a beautiful machine. I wish it had a camera though. Why can't they make it optional? Yeah, I know it is a slim bezel but they could have done it. This is a REAL bummer for me. We do tons of video conferencing company-wide.

Firstly, great forum and fantastic infomation!!

Im waiting patiently for the RGBLED backlit 1920x1200 but also would love to hear when these are gonna come with Blu-Ray drives! Im surprised they are not coming with them as a standard option. Any ETA?

as for the 1920 LED, i was told by dell that it was not in the works at all. and for bluray, you are better off waiting anyway, the prices on those drives is still too ridiculous (assuming you mean a burner). and you can always toss in whatever drive you want, its pretty simple to take apart the drive casing and swap drives (does not end your warranty).

The text on your link says E4300, the headline says E4200. Is that even real, or a really sloppy Photoshop job?

unless i am really missing something, nothing on the pic itself or the link says e4300 --- what are you talking about eagle?

edit -- i am blind. but im sure its just a typo on dell's part -- they havent exactly been careful of those....

Anyway, it is a pretty safe bet that the e4200 and e4300 will be released on the same day.

a quick hint to those who aren't aware -- you can probably get an additional 10% off the top of the 12% EPP discount if you call in and convince the guy. my purchase price just dropped from 2289.40 with 3-5 day shipping to 2056.96 with free next day shipping by way of a manger's discount.

Thanks for the tip, veritas. Just wondering how exactly did you ask for the discount?

I'm guessing $2289 was with the 12% off and then another 10% was applied to reduce that more?

And yes, the E-series turns out to be quite easy to get EPP + managers disc + other extras. The reps all have the power to do it.
