I couldn't wait anylonger and decided to go with the Thinkpad X300. oh well. I would have gone with the E4200 or E4300 if they were available. But alas, the sleekness of the X300 and the massive price drop were too much to resist....that and the fact that I'll actually get it before classes start.

You can get discounts for any of the Dell's business laptops by asking for a quote. Calling (or emailing) the rep is highly recommended.. They are especially willing to give discounts for the accessories and docking stations if you should need any.

Hmmm....if this is true what I hear about SMB giving discounts, I just might have to cancel this order and try them...hmmm.

no discount, but didn't asked for it (ordered online). Was not in the EPP program. Expensive as hell (as usual in Switzerland). Paid about 2500$.

There's no date yet, I'll update it here as soon as i get one.

I just ordered my E6500 (the BT370 is now available) web site offered a "standard" £207 discount, I got about another £50 off the price, plus I got the backlit keyboard and V92 modem added free, and free shipping (actually a bit more discount equivalent to the shipping cost, so that it doesn't show up as free shipping, but I guess that's just done to keep someone happy within Dell)

Bad news is estimated delivery 30th September, but I have a tracking number to keep an eye on it ...

It's definitely worth speaking to a sales rep rather than buying off the web site.

That sounds like a decent deal you got there. The introductory UK discount finishes today and I'm wondering what tomorrow's prices will be like.

It will ship without bluetooth, but the BT is now available and if you need it, you can contact Dell and ask them to add it to your order...

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo SL7100 (1.2GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB)
    13.3 WXGA+ TFT
    1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory
64 GB Solid State Drive (umm...ssd not necessary here?)

Base price: $1900...am I missing something here or does that seem like a terrible choice over a Dell which couldve easily destroyed these specs for $1900.
