The Dell UK site now has this message on any of the new E series configuration pages:

However, there's no link to click.

This message is not linked to particular models or options. I also question the use of "unprecedented". Have Dell forgotten about the M1330 which a lot of forum members ordered?

the demand technically is unprecedented for the system... having not previously existed, there would be no precedent to match or break :p

IMO, the e4200 competes with the Lenovo X200s (not the regular X200) and the e4300 competes with the Lenovo X300.

If the guesses on the price of the e4200 are accurate, I personally think that the X200s is a better option (if the guesses on it's price are accurate!).

I've put together a comparison for the two notebooks in this thread:

Feel free to offer improvements for the comparison chart.

October 2nd?!?! Holy Bat****. If I pulled the trigger a couple of days ago I would have had it the 9/9. I was waiting for the E4300 to come out....let's hope it's even available to non major corporate buyers.

What do u mean 25% when u asked for a quote? U called them on the phone to order it?

Yeah, the delivery time really sucks.. But what can you do :( The rep hinted that especially the E6400 has sold extremely well since launch and in recent days the delivery dates has been pushed back..

I got the discount by talking with the rep, and the price was about 25% lower than what I got from the configurator.. It has to be noted that I ordered two docking stations and those were priced very reasonably. I don't think the discounts are so good when ordering just the basic system.

I had it before, but now our company has some kind of "complete insurance package" that covers our laptops under similar conditions as the Complete Care. So no need for that.

If I were to buy a laptop personally, I would definitely take it.

Just noticed the e6500 now has the WUXGA screen option. Anyone know if it is possible to get discounts for the e6500 when calling in for quote? I may have to pull the trigger on one of these.
