    No pricing yet.

Not sure on the brightness of the display, but the e4300 I had was much brighter than the d630 I have. Will compare this 4200 to the 630 as well and see if I can get side by side shot there.

Weight is 2.2 with the standard battery. I was told its supposed to be just under 3 with the 6 cell I have. THe 6 cell is the largets primary battery for the 4200 and 4300.

No backlit keyboard on this one. There wont be an LED backlit keyboard on the 4200. They are going to be using electroluminesence to light it because it takes up less room :) It did not come on this demo system tho.

I had to cancel my order due to some administrative problems at Dell after I still didn't saw a status and didn't received a confirmation 30 hours after ordering.

Re-ordered it this morning and got an estimated delivery date of October 3 (Switzerland)

What's the battery life on the E4300? Will it compare favorably to the new Thinkpad's that came out?

According to specs, the E4300 is going to compete *directly* with Lenovo's X300. Current street price of the X300 is around $2500 USD.

The X300 only comes with the option of SSD at the moment. the E4300 on the other hand will have the option of HDD or SSD and will therefore start off at a much lower price.

I simply fail to see the reason behind the sole inclusion of SSD. Do people really want to almost *double* the price of the laptop, mainly to reduce the chances of data loss in case of an accidental drop, and maybe get several more minutes of battery time ?, this seems crazy and surelly there are much cheaper solutions to achieve these goals rather than to double the price of the laptop with an insanely pricey SSD drive.

Did manufacturers forgot that in the market of business ultraportables, most of us are simply after a 1kg, 12.1" laptop with a full sized keyboard and decent durability, and that price play a large factor ?

I think they are shooting for overall lowest weight with the E4200, as ~3.2-3.5lbs for the E4300 is more than good enough for businesses.

SSDs (I think) are much lighter...

2.5" HDDs are typically around 100 grammes (0.22lb). I looked up the spec of a Samsung 2.5" SSD and that was 75 grammes, but maybe there are some at around 50 grammes.

Even if the difference is 50 grams between 2.5" HDD and 2.5" SSD, does anyone really want to pay such a huge premium in order to go down from 1.05 KG, to 1.00 KG ?, is it even possible to notice such difference ???
