Read the details. It's the main battery plus a big battery slice.

No HDMI out on the E4200? Guh!

I know they're business notebooks, but shouldn't it be standard in a $1200+ machine? I was looking to break away from the XPS since they don't offer a 12" lappy...anyone think they will bring it back?

It's not a matter of price, it's a matter of size. If you need to use all kinds of ports, a 12" laptop isn't for you.

Yep. 4300 doesnt have hdmi or dvi. You need a dock for those ports. From looking at it, I dont know where they would put anoher port on this thing and keep it the same size. There is a VGA, firewire, 1 USB, eSATA that can also double as a 2nd USB, audio, power and a NIC.

Ok then Sony definetely has a winner on it's hand with the Z series.

The only way I see Dell making up for this is if they're going to be way cheaper.

I really can't get over people complaining about them not looking stylish and cool. To those who complain, you DO realize the latitudes are BUSINESS laptops, yes? ... performance before style. And the warranty support for dell is unmatched. To someone that has been using the d8x0 series pretty much since its inception, dell is definitely on the right track with these things. I am quite happy.

and furthermore (sorry for the string reply) -- the sony z's max battery life is 6 hours. at least the e6400 is 19 (yes, nineteen, look at the slides) hours. no comparison.

I couldn't agree mode. And as a business user where function for me comes before design, I am very excited for these systems to come out to add some "Cool" to even more functionality!

You're listing the batterlife of Sony Z with the default 6 cell battery versus the Dell E with a huge extended battery.
