I believe the frame must be removed for 7mm as it barely fits. You will likely have to come up with your own rubber spacer/protector for your 7mm drive.

This HyperX RAM works fine in my E7450. However, the system doesn't want to run it faster than 1,600MHz so the only speed benefit is from the slightly lower latency.

I think the two non-touch FHD panel options are the AUO (which I had on my E7440) and the LG which came on my E7450. The LG is ahead in my opinion when comparing this year's LG panel with last year's AUO but maybe AUO have done some tweaks to the manufacturing since last year so this comparison may not be valid. Strictly speaking, only the LG is IPS while the AUO uses a different technology which gives the same very good viewing angles.

I recently got an E7450 and I'm very happy with it in general, however, I've noticed that my pointstick and the buttons for it get disabled when I press any key on the keyboard. The situation is like when I'm using the pointstick to move the curser and a keystroke happens, the cursor would be stopped for about half a second.
I think this might be a feature to prevent accidental cursor movement while typing but I'm not sure and I don't know how to disable it. Does anyone else notice the same thing as well?
    Thanks in advance.

Tried it, killing the process make the pointstick recover after being disabled for half a second(it gets stuck as long as a key is hold before, except ctrl or shift key, in which case it gets disabled for half a second). But it still gets disabled for half a second when I press any key.

Thank you for your help still.

I'm using a Samsung 850 Evo 1TB SSD in my e7450 without any issues. I used the factory 2.5" bracket but without the rubber spacers. SSD does not need shock protection like HD's.
Been running like this for nearly 5 months now without any issues.

Also for RAM, I'm using some GSkill 8GB modules (16GB total) with 9-9-9-28 timing without any issues.

Glad to help, sorry that didn't work for you. I never use the touchstick, so it doesn't make any difference to me, but it seemed like someone was able to make that fix work on the M4800.

    Thanks!
Thank you, John! But are you sure that your system actually runs at CL9? I am asking because screenshot shows 3 different 1600 MHz profiles and E7450 might accept CL10 or even CL11 instead like E6400 did in my case.

As for screens it looks like manufacturers sometimes call IPS all “IPS-like” panels (H-IPS, PLS, AHVA etc). You also mentioned LG046D panel but I did any info on it unfortunately.
Thanks for your response! Please clarify do you mean using factory 5mm 2.5” HDD bracket with 7mm 2.5” SSD and it fits normally after rubber spacers removed? Did you upgrade HDD configuration or bought 5mm bracket separately? By shock protection I meant “correct” physical placement so SSD would be fixed tightly by rubber pads (not just metal frame) if possible. But I also think it is ok without spacers as long as frame holds SSD in position.

HWiNFO thinks it is running at CL9:
    E7450 HWiNFO.jpg
SiSoftware Sandra's memory bandwidth benchmark gives the CL9 RAM a speed of 18.24GB/s while the CL11 RAM is 17.60GB/s.

Regarding the display, I couldn't find any useful info about that specific panel but LG is one of the main manufacturers of IPS panels. HWiNFO also shows a code of 140WF3 for the display so it must be a close relation of the panel reviewed here and the measurements about good black level and contrast are consistent with my observations.

Regarding the caddy for the SSD I am hoping that this will enable me to fit a 7mm SSD into a friend's E7450. I should know for certain within a few days. As already comments, you don't need to worry about rubber bumpers for an SSD.
