I thought the 9 cell was the slice.

I see people selling 9 cell batteries on eBay, but they say "Latitude E6220 E6320 E6420 E6520" and that doesn't sound right.....as my 9 cell E6430 battery does not work on my E6220...not even on my E6320.

There's no 9-cell battery for the E6220, that's the extended battery for the E6420/E6520. The biggest primary battery for the E6220 is the 6-cell.

That's definately not going to work, it's an E6420/E6520 battery. Always cross-check eBay listings for incorrect compatibility information (and sometimes fake items)...

Depending on your usage, 5-6 hours with the 6-cell is possible. I use RDP extensively, so I always bring a PA-2E adapter unless I have a full change and the meeting is an hour or less.

Thanks. I'm leaning towards the 6-cell.

The slice is quite expensive, but you should be able to get a new OEM 6-cell for less than $60. I got both of mine for ~$40 about a year ago.

Unless you need it now, I would wait for a better deal on eBay (also look for E6230 batteries to broaden your search).

    Robin,

Thanks for the time you spent helping me. It saved me the hassle of returning the 9-cell.

Question: The screw on the bottom plate of my E6220 keeps turning; that is, it doesn't stop turning like a regular screw. It does, however, seem to hold the laptop plate in place. Is this by design or is the screw or where it screws into, stripped?

No, there's something wrong. Take a closer look, you may have stripped the threads.
