Then point out a 13.3" laptop that has a higher resolution, please. Oh, and make sure it is a business notebook. Consumer piece of plastic doesn't count, unless the quality and service are just as good as Dell's or HP's business line.

$2800 for an E4200! And no instant savings discount. Time to wait until the early adoptors with deep pockets buy theirs. In a few months E4200s will start appearing on the Dell Outlet.

it is very rare for a 13.3" to have a higher resolution

perhaps that is changing but rare at the moment

I don't know but I like to guess. 5 hours with the 4 cell, 7.5 with the 6 cell. On energy saving settings and dimmed brightness.

I'm basing this on the improved ULV CPU, LED, SSD and the batterylife on the E6400.

and the e4300 price is just way too much for alot of people for such features....my signature laptop below, the U330 - was $1000....SHIPPED

and that murders the e4300, and its 800 cheaper and thats 1GB of memory and no dedicated graphics/hybrid graphics, no hdmi/display port (unless you buy the dock)

These prices seem a bit too much for me also. I was thinking that base would be around $700 and then after reading the forums, I slowly got my head around $1300. Well, the one I spec'd out was going to cost me $2200. That's too much for a thin and light laptop in my mind. I'd spend that kind of money on a desktop replacement. I'll also be looking forward to a price drop. I do like the comments about how they may not be able to satisfy demand so they'll hike the price for the people who have to have it so they can supply it to them. I'll be watching for deals and checking with my company to see if they can get a better rate.
You know the economy is going to hell in a hand basket and while I have the money and could absorb the hit, I'm less likely to commit this much money to this expendature. I was already to purchase, but I figure I'll be sitting on my money for a little while longer and checking the coupon sites everyday.

    P.S. I want a 4300.

This is way beyond my driest dream!

Why does it cost so much for the E4300?

I think Dell is pricing itself out of existance. Have they look at the Lenovo?

In the US Sony Z is even cheaper than E4300. And Z has way more features.

In Europe E4300 is cheaper than Sony Z.
