the first thing I checked this morning...
so disappointed. these prices are ridiculous! Especially the e4300. How can they even offer a model with 1g of ram! with vista running on it...
well, maybe it's just that the first few weeks the prices are extremely high for about any electronics. I am going through the specs of the base model.
it includes though a 3-year warranty. It doesn't even include a DVD burner, SERIOUSLY, come on dell.

just a DECENT configuration is a little above $2,000.

I wouldn't be surprised of a price tag topping over AU$3000 in Asia Pacific for this machine. And you thought it was expensive over there!

Strangely prices in Europe are (relatively) far more competitive than the prices in US.

Yeah I agree with all of you. I was very undecided between the 6400 and the 4300 and I am now so glad I did not wait I went with the 6400! I would have been so disapointed! There is no justification for such a premium over the 14"! A quite similar config to my 1700$ 6400 climbs up to 2400$ for the 4300 :(.

    Mmmm.

Weird, a similarily spec'd 4200 is also around 2500$, but with an SSD option. I think I would have gone 4200 instead of 4300 :).

Now if my 6400 can ship soon!

ok, i will go for e6400 instead of e4300...

from other countries dell website, i can predict the e4300 will be extremely expensive, when here, australia is selling e6400 at a starting price of AU$1879.

maybe... at least AU$2500?? with reference to 12" latitude d series.

if you can wait I am confident this price will not last long. if you think about it:
Dell probably had thousands of people lined up to buy it, now many are walking away, but many will be buying at that price. If they would offer at a lower price they would not be able to supply the demand. So for them is more profitable to sell less at a higher price.

Only one screen option for the E4300? WXGA is a little bit on the low side for that price...
