    1. Spindle is the industry term for number of drives in the system. 2-spindle is the standard HDD + optical drive configuration and 0-spindle means SSD only without optical drive. SSDs do not have any moving spindles, hence 0-spindle.

    2. SV is the new entry level 25W Penryn processors on the Montevina platform. They fit between the ULV and NV chips.

    SV is standard-voltage

Wonder what the differences between the Mainstream and Essential versions of the 15.4 and 14.1 inchers are? And now that there are "mainstream" versions of the Latitudes, does that mean you can order one from the Home and Home Office section of dell.com?

I think the difference between the E6X00 and E5X00 would be in terms of weight and price such as the difference between the Dells Current D630 and D530 / and Thinkpads's R and T series........

By the way its "Mainstream" and "Essential"...where did you get the "consumer" ?

Well, they'll want it released when Intel releases Montevina. It can't be released before that, and if they release it too long after Intel releases Montevina, then their competitors have Montevina notebooks and they don't... which would hurt business.
