Unfortunately it does not solve the 'black screen' issue.

sorry to hear that, If mine wasn't bricked by technician I'd probably came to same conclusion.

Can anyone who has similar or same configuration confirm that FHD is flawless in this terms?

It is possible, that your computer is not bricked. When technician replaced motherboard in my computer, and powered it on for the first time, computer did not turn on.
We also thought that machine is dead, but after I plugged in my external VGA monitor an pressed Power button few times, computer resumed and worked just fine.
You can give it a try (if you have external VGA monitor).

I wish it wasn't, he tried variations and had no luck it showed screen lit up once then went back into blue screen and shut off. It continued that way. strange but to be honest they outsource techs from CRC here in UK and its notorious for damaging what they repair. so I attribute this mess to CRC as it was sub-par service in my personal opinion of course.

Sort of a good news for people with 'black screen' problem :). New NVidia driver partly solves the "black screen" issue (at least on my Win7 x64).

I just installed new NVidia drivers (332.76-quadro-notebook-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql) and now screen does turn on after I close and open the lid!
However they did kind of a workaround, not a real fix, I guess. Because when I close the lid, the backlight stays ON. Hopefully they'll fix it in one of the next releases.

Does the screen turn off when the turn off monitor timeout is reached or never?

Hmm, I don't seem to be able to adjust the screen brightness at all, it just stays at maximum.
